The Importance of Disclosure.

In the short clip below, Prof. Kay Redfield Jamison talks candidly about the factors that drove her to ‘go public’ with her struggle with bipolar disorder.  Disclosure can be a painful and difficult process, but Jamison makes the case cogently that the sufferer has the duty to speak out and to help dispel stigma and misunderstanding.  Crucially, in so speaking out, Jamison had the support of her employer and her colleagues; such support makes a huge difference in the life of the sufferer and Johns Hopkins University is to be commended for it.
