Exploring the Origins of Depression and Targeted Treatments

In this BBC World Service radio broadcast, Geoff Watts meets researchers looking for clues to the origins of depression with a view to developing new forms of targeted treatment.

In the first of two programmes Geoff talks to scientist Randolph Nesse and asks why hasn’t natural selection made us less vulnerable to psychological disorders? Could it be that depression has an important role to play in our lives?
